Core maker • Colleton County, South Carolina

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a core maker in Colleton County, South Carolina. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day to day you will melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Performance bonus on top of base pay. Full-time with occasional weekends.
