Now hiring: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Kent, England. The job is on a structural steel site. The role involves clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
