Trainee butcher • Wallace County, Kansas

Vacancy available: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Wallace County, Kansas. You will work at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. Your main tasks: • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone • Weigh, price and label cuts for the display case • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder You should have: • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day 6+ years on the tools preferred.
