Immediate opening: safety officer (Virginia)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a safety officer in City of Poquoson, Virginia. The job is at an oil and gas facility. You should have: • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • NEBOSH, IOSH or a recognised OHS certificate • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations The role involves: • Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) on every new task • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements • Stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Update the risk register and method statements (RAMS) • Enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
