Pipe tig welder • Saginaw County, Michigan

We are recruiting: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Saginaw County, Michigan. You will be based at a precision engineering workshop. Your main tasks: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal Requirements: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
