Now hiring: we are hiring an offshore rigger in Jefferson County, Kansas. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket Your main tasks: • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use Six days a week, one day off.
