Counter butcher — Whatcom County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a counter butcher in Whatcom County, Washington. You will work in a meat processing plant. You should have: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate Your main tasks: • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. $2,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
