Immediate opening: we are hiring a butcher in Knox County, Maine. The job is in a supermarket meat department. Day-to-day duties: • Weigh, price and label cuts for the display case • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife Requirements: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • 2+ years experience working as a butcher Full-time, day shift. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Walk-in interviews this week.
