Lifting rigger — Smyth County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Smyth County, Virginia. The role involves: • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks Ideal candidate: • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $200 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
