Vacancy available: core maker (Oregon)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Morrow County, Oregon. Day to day you will apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale. You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
