Immediate opening: we are hiring a machinist in Mahoning County, Ohio. The job is on an export house sewing floor. What we are looking for: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Day to day you will press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching.
