Horizontal milling machine operator — Dorchester County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a horizontal milling machine operator in Dorchester County, Maryland. You will be based in a toolroom. The role involves set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines; mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square; apply cutting coolant and clear swarf from the machine bed; set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter; select and fit end mills, face mills and slot drills into collets and arbors; carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance. Ideal candidate: • ITI/NCVT certificate in machinist or turner trade • Able to grind and set HSS cutters • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $20 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
