Now hiring: we are hiring a garment presser in Jasper County, Iowa. The job is in a tailoring workshop. Ideal candidate: • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep Day-to-day duties: • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching Full-time with occasional weekends.
