Sand plant operator — Nevada County

Join our team: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Nevada County, California. The role involves: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal 1+ years on the tools preferred. Part-time with flexible hours. We offer $3,800 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
