Vacancy available: we are hiring an overlocker operator in Westmoreland County, Virginia. You will be based at a busy garment factory. Requirements: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Day-to-day duties: • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
