Foundry labourer wanted in Mifflin County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Your main tasks: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding 6+ years on the tools preferred. $26 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
