Day-to-day duties: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
