Milling machine operator — Hertfordshire

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a milling machine operator in Hertfordshire, England. The job is at a fabrication and machining plant. Day to day you will set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe; measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges; deburr and finish machined edges with files and emery; set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter; hold close tolerances down to ±0.02 mm; run first-off parts and check dimensions before batch production. What we are looking for: • Proficient with micrometers, vernier callipers and dial gauges • Able to grind and set HSS cutters £145 per day, negotiable for the right hands. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
