Urgent requirement: we are hiring a tig welder in Edgar County, Illinois. The role involves: • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
