Now hiring: we are hiring a hand presser in Imperial County, California. You will work in a busy laundry. Day to day you will remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift bundles and handle repetitive work • 1-2 years' experience pressing garments in a factory • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep Rotating shifts.
