Great opportunity: we are hiring a hand presser in Dillingham Census Area, Alaska. You will be based at a garment factory. You should have: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • 1-2 years' experience pressing garments in a factory • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine Your main tasks: • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics • Sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $3,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
