Furnace operator — Simpson County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Simpson County, Mississippi. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Your main tasks: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand Six days a week, one day off.
