Dogger — Brookings County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a dogger in Brookings County, South Dakota. You will work in a steel fabrication yard. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Day-to-day duties: • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $2,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
