Immediate opening: we are hiring a groundworker in Childress County, Texas. You will be based on a commercial building project. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work outdoors in heat, dust and rain • Know how to mix concrete and mortar to the right ratio You will stack and store materials safely to avoid wastage; carry bricks, cement bags and sand up to the masons on site; cure freshly laid concrete by sprinkling water for several days; mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer; dig foundation trenches and pits with pick and shovel; bend and tie rebar with binding wire for slabs and columns. 6+ years on the tools preferred.
