Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Cowley County, Kansas. Requirements: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Day to day you will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant.
