Argon welder wanted in Pratt County

Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in Pratt County, Kansas. You will be based at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Requirements: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding You will back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal. $2,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
