Plant operator • Mitchell County, North Carolina

Immediate opening: we are hiring a plant operator in Mitchell County, North Carolina. You will work at a landfill site. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work at remote sites and mines on a roster • Minimum 2-3 years' experience operating earthmoving machinery • Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination The role involves: • Grease the pins, bushings and slew ring at the start of each shift • Keep a safe distance from excavation edges and overhead lines • Load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket • Level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines • Carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension • Break rock and concrete with the hydraulic breaker attachment Six days a week, one day off.
