Now hiring: we are hiring a safety inspector in Rice County, Minnesota. The job is in a warehouse and logistics yard. Day-to-day duties: • Record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date • Run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry • Verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements • Investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points Requirements: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills 4+ years on the tools preferred.
