Now hiring: we are hiring a press operator in Newport, Wales. You will work at a busy press shop. The role involves: • Check stamped parts against drawings using vernier calipers and gauges • Fit and check guards, light curtains and safety interlocks before starting • Punch, blank, pierce, bend and form sheet metal components • Apply die lubricant and keep the tooling clean • Carry out first-off inspection and report rejects to the supervisor Requirements: • Physically fit to stand a full shift and lift blanks up to 20 kg • Can use vernier calipers, micrometers and go/no-go gauges 6+ years on the tools preferred.
