Foundry worker • Doguwa, Kano State

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry worker in Doguwa, Kano State. Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Day-to-day duties: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Six days a week, one day off.
