Banksman — Taylor County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a banksman in Taylor County, Iowa. The job is on an offshore oil and gas platform. Your main tasks: • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear You should have: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Six days a week, one day off.
