What we are looking for: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols Your main tasks: • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size Pay around $4,200 per month, based on your experience.
