Vacancy available: shakeout operator (Texas)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Taylor County, Texas. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. The role involves maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. What we are looking for: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
