Vertical milling machine operator — Douglas County

Now hiring: we are hiring a vertical milling machine operator in Douglas County, Kansas. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines • Set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter • Machine slots, pockets, flats, keyways and contours to drawing • Measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges • Select and fit end mills, face mills and slot drills into collets and arbors • Keep in-process inspection records and log production counts You should have: • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron • 2-3 years' hands-on milling experience Full-time with occasional weekends.
