Brick mason — Cedar County

Now hiring: we are hiring a brick mason in Cedar County, Nebraska. On a typical shift you will checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge. Ideal candidate: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) 3+ years on the tools preferred.
