Immediate opening: foundry operative (Virginia)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in City of Harrisonburg, Virginia. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Basic grinding and fettling skills On the job you will handle: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Part-time with flexible hours. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
