Sand plant operator • Warrick County, Indiana

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Warrick County, Indiana. You will work at a busy iron foundry. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Basic grinding and fettling skills The role involves: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities Full-time, day shift.
