Ideal candidate: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage You will strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding.
