Trowel-trade bricklayer — Jackson County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a trowel-trade bricklayer in Jackson County, West Virginia. Day-to-day duties: • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation Requirements: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
