Foundry labourer — Washington County

Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Washington County, Maryland. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding The role involves shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant.
