Immediate opening: we are hiring a shuttering carpenter in Lake County, Illinois. The job is on a metro and tunnel project. What we are looking for: • Sound understanding of props, bracing and load-bearing • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long shifts Your main tasks: • Fix stop ends and kickers at the construction joints • Strike and strip the formwork once the concrete has cured • Read formwork drawings and setting-out marks to position the shutters • Seal panel joints and hold the correct concrete cover to prevent grout loss • Fix soldiers, walers and tie rods to resist the concrete pressure • Watch the formwork during concreting and tighten up any movement $5,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
