Immediate opening: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Kingman County, Kansas. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Day-to-day duties: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
