You should have: • Able to read isometric and site drawings • Valid gas fitter's licence and Gas Safe (or local) registration • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders The role involves: • Set and adjust regulator outlet pressure with a gauge • Connect combi boilers, water heaters and gas cookers to the supply • Check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray • Carry out tightness (pressure) tests with a manometer and lock off the supply • Purge air from the lines and commission appliances to the correct gas rate Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
