Urgent requirement: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Champaign County, Illinois. The role involves cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses. Requirements: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage Part-time with flexible hours. Meals and transport allowance provided.
