Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Henderson County, Tennessee. The job is at an automotive body and exhaust shop. What we are looking for: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage You will back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks.
