Backhoe operator — Floyd County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a backhoe operator in Floyd County, Virginia. You will work in an open-cast quarry. The role involves work safely around buried services with a banksman or spotter; keep the cab clean and oil-free and report defects promptly; inspect tracks, bucket teeth and pins for wear before start-up; swap buckets and attachments — rock breaker, grab, ripper, auger; strip and stockpile topsoil ready for reuse; lift and place pipes, manholes and precast sections with the bucket and chains. You should have: • Reliable, punctual and able to get to site • Own PPE — safety boots, hi-vis and hard hat A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Part-time with flexible hours.
