Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixer in LaGrange County, Indiana. You will work at a precast concrete yard. The role involves tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) Six days a week, one day off.
