Now hiring: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Okeechobee County, Florida. You will work in a non-ferrous casting shop. Day-to-day duties: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
