Fettler — Oswego County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a fettler in Oswego County, New York. On the job you will handle: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale Requirements: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards $26 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
