Join our team: we are hiring a core maker in Catoosa County, Georgia. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. You should have: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Basic grinding and fettling skills Day to day you will check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces.
